Chief Geologist of Galaz & Co LLP Named Among Kazakhstan’s Top 20 Oil & Gas Geologists — 2026

On the occasion of Geologist’s Day, the industry community recognized the contributions of leading professionals who form the foundation of Kazakhstan’s oil and gas sector. As part of the annual review “Top 20 Oil & Gas Geologists of Kazakhstan — 2026” prepared by PetroCouncil, experts representing various levels and segments of the industry — from government institutions and the scientific community to production companies and subsoil users — were honored.

Among the distinguished professionals is Galymzhan Yesetov, Chief Geologist of Galaz & Co LLP, a subsidiary of Kazpetrol Group.

It is important to note that the nomination initiative was led by the HR Department of Kazpetrol Group, which ensured full coordination of the process at every stage — from preparing and coordinating the nomination to completing the required documentation in full compliance with established standards. This approach reflects the Company’s systematic efforts in developing human capital and recognizing professional achievements.

About the Specialist

Galymzhan Yesetov is an experienced geologist and manager with more than 20 years of industry experience. He graduated from the Kazakh National Technical University named after K. Satbayev with a degree in Geological Surveying, Prospecting, and Exploration, and also holds an MBA in Oil and Gas Business Management.

He began his professional career in 2004 at JSC CNPC Aidan Munai as a leading engineer-geologist, where he was engaged in geological and field analysis and supported the development of oil fields. In 2008, he continued his career within Kazpetrol Group, heading the geology function.

Since 2023, he has been serving as Chief Geologist of Galaz & Co LLP, where he leads geological projects, participates in strategic planning, and contributes to the implementation of modern technical solutions.

Throughout his career, he has established himself as a results-oriented professional with strong analytical thinking and a high level of expertise. His involvement in project development and implementation has contributed to improved operational efficiency and reduced production risks.
