Horse Racing Baige

On April 11, 2026, in Kyzylorda, the first qualifying stage of the Kazakhstan Championship in baige – a traditional equestrian sport deeply rooted in Kazakh culture – was held at a high organizational level.

This spectacular event was not only a sporting competition but also an important platform for reviving national spirit and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the Kazakh people. The rhythmic sound of galloping horses brought the steppe to life, filling the atmosphere with tradition and leaving a lasting impression on spectators.

The large-scale event was organized by the Baige Federation, led by Kanat Kopbayev, shareholder of Kusto Group, in cooperation with the regional Akimat. It is worth noting that our Company was also among the sponsors, contributing to the support and development of national sports.

The competition brought together racehorses and jockeys from across the country, including participants from Shymkent, Almaty, Zhambyl, Pavlodar, Abai, and Zhetysu regions, highlighting the national scale and significance of the event.

A large number of spectators and strong public interest clearly demonstrated the importance of baige for the Kazakh people. It is not just a race–it is a reflection of history, culture, and the spirit of the nation.

4th place – Kunkuar (Zhetysu Region, Taldykorgan)

Kunan Baige (7 km, 18 participants):
1st place – Karakat (Zhetysu Region)
2nd place – Bak (Almaty Region)
3rd place – Sulikara (Almaty Region)
4th place – Erketory (Zhambyl Region)
5th place – Lashyn (Kyzylorda Region)

Top Baige (12 km, 24 participants):
1st place – Orda (Almaty Region)
2nd place – Aisha (Pavlodar Region)
3rd place – Bozbiik (Almaty Region)
4th place – Markhaba (Almaty Region)
5th place – Karanar (Zhambyl Region)

This event once again confirmed the vitality of traditional sports and their special place in the hearts of the people. Baige is not only a competition of speed and endurance, but also a symbol of unity and national spirit.
